Our baby boy is absolutely adorable but also quite lazy, if I was being completely honest. I get frustrated with how little patience he has with himself and how easily he gets "tired" when he stumbles with his reading lessons. So I'm approaching his lessons with gentleness and I have to catch myself when I tend to compare him to his sister. We've had to test a lot of methods with Paco and so far, Blossom & Root's First Edition Level 1 Language Arts, Stories We Tell seem to be working well for him. The selection is so simple and hits our nature studies already because we get to read very short stories from the People Series. He loves the vocabulary exercises where he gets to practice reading words, cutting and pasting them to form a poem so the words make contextual sense to him after several reviews. His drawing narrations are adorable. We dip into Bob Books occasionally but since finishing the yellow box, he's been quite bored with it. I'm much more consistent going through a lesson every other day of A Gentle Feast's Sight & Sound Level 1 which is a continuation of what we started at the 4th quarter of his Kindergarten Year and is working wonders so far! His goal is to finish reading Treadwill & Free Reading Primer and by "finish" it's for him to read out loud with me. It's not a lot but it's a goal we hope to accomplish soon! Wish Paco good luck!
I asked what his favorite book was from Kindergarten and he said, My Father's Dragon. Here's what he remembers :D
Finally reading sentences!
